Celebrating 643 Years of Long Service

Southern Hospitality has been serving the New Zealand Hospitality Industry for over 30 years. And coming along for the ride we have an extensive list of long service employees, so long in fact that employees working for us for 10 or more years equals a whopping  643 years of service! Not only does this give continuity to our customers, but it also helps us to have the best knowledge in the business, and to develop and grow as we need to. Being kiwi owner and operated gives us the opportunity to build careers for our people right here in New Zealand.

 It would be safe to say there aren't many companies that have over 40 people with a tenure of over 10 years! Southern Hospitality slam dunks this record with 41 staff members who qualify for 10+ years, with 8 people hitting the 20+ years mark. It truly is a testament to the Southen Family and while we diversify with technology and hospitality challenges, we maintain a supportive and strong company with a culture second to none.

Our generous founder, Roger Fewtrell, felt it appropriate to get us together to celebrate together in our place of birth - Dunedin - over the October Labour Day Weekend.

The weekend was kicked off (literally) with a North vs South Football Match at Logan Park followed by various regional activities, including a visit to the Albatross Colony, Tunnel Beach Tour and visits to Speights and Emerson Breweries.

Supporting the Dunedin hospitality industry, the weekend involved connecting teams and celebrating our long serving staff members. We finished the weekend with a once-in-a-lifetime Ball at Larnach Castle, giving our teams across the motu in all departments from sales, accounts, logistics, distribution,  IT, product & marketing and more to let a little loose and enjoy Dunedin's best.
