Winter Cocktail Recipes

Spice up your menu with these winter cocktail recipes

As the winter approaches and the air starts to feel crisp, it’s the perfect time to refresh your menu and start thinking about the drinks you’ll be serving your customers to warm their spirits.

Here are some cocktail recipes for you to try out this winter.

1: Blood orange and carrot negroni

Ingredients:

  • 2 thick slices of blood orange

  • 1 teaspoon coconut palm sugar

  • ice cubes.

  • 50 ml Aperol

  • 50 ml Antica Formula

  • 50 ml Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray gin

  • 50 ml carrot juice

  • 50 ml blood orange juice

  • 2 oversized square ice cubes

  • 1 baby heritage carrot (halved lengthways)

Equipment

Instructions:

Step 1:

Prepare the garnish for the drink by sprinkling two slices of blood orange with coconut palm sugar. Run a blow torch over each slice until the sugar melts and caramelises. Set aside for later.

Step 2:

Take a handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour in the instructed amount of Aperol, Antica, gin, carrot juice, and blood orange juice and give it 4 to 3 good shakes.

Step 3:

place an oversized ice cube in each glass. These ice cubes are a much better option for drinks like these as they melt more slowly than normal-sized ice cubes. The last thing you want is a watered-down Negroni! Strain the content of the shaker into the glasses.

Step 4:

Garnish by skewering one piece of carrot through the orange slice. Lay this in the glass so that the orange is floating.

Serve this to customers and recommend taking a little sip of the drink through the caramelized piece of orange to have the full experience of the drink.
