Massey University in Palmerston North wanted their students to have a fantastic range of food to make their time at university more enjoyable, so they decided to revamp their food court and Southern Hospitality is proud to be a part of this fantastic opportunity.
We were asked to start and finish this project during the student holidays so that the students would not be inconvenienced during their study and exams and we did exactly that during the summer break of 2016, just in time for students to start their year in 2017.
We teamed with Project Design International, Hospitality Service Hub (now integrated with Southern Hospitality), Project Management was carried out by Southern Hospitality which included help from other local service agents to finish the following projects within a matter of a month –
- Streat
- Treat
- The Bread Co.
- Have. Coffee
After Project Design International did the kitchen design and specs on all 4 places, Southern Hospitality set to work with a team to finish up these eateries for the new year.
We worked the timber framing and joinery for all four locations along with the flooring in the main area. We installed Cossiga cold decks to keep the food at the right temperature. We also installed Cossiga Hot Decks with fitted Hatco heat lamps to keep the hot foods warm for Streats, Treats and The Bread Co.
The furniture in the main area was custom designed and built for them.
The Must. Have. Coffee is situated in the library and it is a custom fitout. Apart from the timber framing and joinery, wiring and plumbing, we also custom designed and installed the stainless-steel cage concept with the hydraulic lifts for this kiosk.
We installed a Cossiga cold display cabinet with an ambient cabinet above it.
