Transforming Aged Care Catering in Milford
Lady Allum Care Facility, nestled in the heart of Milford, is a respected aged care and retirement community offering both independent living and residential care. With a growing demand for high-quality food service across the site, the facility required a kitchen upgrade that could meet the operational intensity and compliance standards of aged care catering.
Understanding the Operational Needs
The existing kitchen setup was no longer fit for purpose. Lady Allum needed a solution that would streamline workflow, enhance food safety, and support staff efficiency in a high-volume environment. Southern Hospitality was brought in to deliver a comprehensive upgrade, one that went beyond equipment supply to include detailed kitchen layouts and 3D renderings to aid planning and decision-making.
Delivering a Purpose-Built Kitchen
Our team designed and implemented a kitchen that strikes a balance between performance, durability, and compliance. Key equipment included the ScanBox Ergo Line Hot Box H12, ideal for maintaining food temperature during service transitions, and Tonon 4 Tier Shelves, which offer robust and hygienic storage solutions.
To maximise space and functionality, we installed Simply Stainless wall shelves and infill benches, ensuring seamless integration into the kitchen’s workflow. Refrigeration needs were met with the EuroChill 3-Door Undercounter Integral Chiller, providing reliable cooling in a compact footprint.
Cooking performance was elevated with the Waldorf Gas Griddle and Waldorf Gas Convection Oven, both known for their consistency and ease of use. For warewashing, the Starline Passthrough Dishwasher was selected to handle high volumes with minimal water and energy consumption. The addition of a Pro.equip Electric Plate Warmer to ensure meals can be served at optimal temperatures, enhancing resident satisfaction.
