Mount Albert Baptist Church welcomes everyone and anyone to be part of the church community-a place to connect, grow and serve. The perfect design for this church kitchen and catering area needed to be a functional and modern space for their skilled and not so skilled volunteers, as well as have the ability to cater to a variety of functions this space would be used for.

Southern Hospitality are experienced in the Church Design & Supply space and supplying the combination of commercial and domestic items are usually the best mix. Equipment needs to allow for a wide variety of cooking options from reheating food, snacks, finger food, complete meals, and the option to run as a Café. Domestic equipment like microwaves can be used by the inexperienced members who just want to heat up morning tea or snack food and the commercial pieces can be used by the more confident trained cooks who need the speed and benefits this equipment can offer.

Stainless Steel counters were installed, these surfaces are hygienic, easy to clean and durable and a combination of off the shelf Simply Stainless Benches and custom made  stainless steel benches, tops and frames including the island frame and L-Shape servery bench were made by our sister company Project Stainless.

The centre island bench is ideal for communal food preparation and makes this space functional for large gatherings. Undercounter chillers were a must to save space and ensure easy access to refrigerated goods. The Eurochill Solid Door Chillers have recessed door handles and wide doors which makes access to trays easier. For extra storage, a 1 Door Delta Upright Fridge and 1 Door Delta Upright Freezer were added. This means extra space for pastoral meal prep or functions.

For the more experienced cook, a 6 element Blue Seal EMB39 Electric Range With Electric Convection Oven was included to deliver functionality and performance. Heavy duty motors and circulation fans reduce cooking time and the easy clean vitreous enamel interior offers 2/1 gastronorm capacity. A 160L Grease Converter was also installed to capture and permanently transform fats. This is an environmentally responsible way to convert fats, oils and grease. A 7 Tray Turbofan Combi Oven was installed to make the best use of the space while offering a productive solution for a multitude of cooking processes including steaming, convection cooking and baking. The combi-steam process means cooking results are a step above.

Pass through dishwashers at bench height, in this case a Starline M2 Passthrough Dishwasher are ideal in church kitchens allowing for less heavy lifting and making them useable by all members of the congregation. Stainless Steel Dishrack Stands for racks help the storage and flow of dishes. For pre rinsing dishes, all kitchens shouldn’t be without the Fisher Pre Rinse Bench Mount .

Along with the large equipment, Southern Hospitality also delivered the everyday kitchen tools required, everything from thermometers to sandwich cutters, our range extends to every need of all commercial kitchens.
