Cafe at Gallagher

Way back in the 1930s, Sir William Gallagher developed an electric fence to keep his horse from using his car as a scratching post. Today, the Gallagher Group is a global leader in the innovation, manufacture and marketing of animal management, security, fuel systems and contract manufacturing solutions. Their head office and one of many working factories is based in the heart of the Waikato. The cafeteria feeds between 300-500 staff daily ranging from factory staff to corporate lunches and afternoon teas.

Southern Hospitality was approached to help rebuild their existing kitchen at the end of 2017 and in June 2018, we completed the project including the organization of a container kitchen to keep the cafeteria in operation until the upgrades were finished. Southern Hospitality is proud to have worked with Project Stainless to complete this renovated kitchen for the Gallagher Group.

We equipped their kitchen with 2 Convotherm Combi-Ovens stacked on top of one another, a Cobra cook range with a static oven and Blue Seal Deep Fryer to cook all the chips, the one item without which no café is complete. We measured and chose the correct items to ensure that they all fit under their existing rangehood.

To heat up the food quickly before it is served, we installed a Menumaster Jetwave, a high-speed oven which has a “Microwave Only” mode. We also installed 2 Menumaster microwave ovens next to one another and put an induction cooktop on the bench.

Project Stainless fabricated the custom benching for the kitchen and we fitted Simply Stainless modular over-shelves and wall shelving with some Leader Kitchen stainless steel shelves for the cool rooms.

The Starline pass-through dishwasher was previously installed by us during the original kitchen build and since it is a perfectly reliable machine and was in a great condition, we refitted it with custom stainless steel inlet & outlet benching around it. We installed a Fisher pre-rinse wall mounted faucet and we supply the chemicals they need to keep their kitchen clean.

You will notice in the above image that we also put in a Delta benchtop planetary mixer with bins underneath the bench to store the flour and other ingredients.



In addition to the above, we installed an undercounter fridge / freezer, and provided a variety of Accolade Cutlery and Crockery, and a wide range of pots, pans and steam pans.
